Windows update is a service offered by Microsoft for its products. Updates are usually provided for enhancing security and other features. Regular updates protect the system from malware and virus attacks.
Updates are usually released on Tuesday’s of every month, called a patch Tuesday. However, they are released on other days for immediate fixes. Most computers have ‘Install Updates Automatically’ enabled. You can also manually check for updates if you wish to.

- 0x80…. Series error
If you encounter errors like ‘0x80….’, you can use Microsoft’s Update Troubleshooter to fix the issue. It has a detailed walkthrough tutorial to help fix errors. In some cases, however, it gives a description of the error when the fix is not possible.
- Reinstall update on Windows 10
If the update is not completely installed or unsuccessful, you may encounter problems with your system. In that case, try re-installing updates. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Go to Settings
- Choose Update & Security > Windows Update
- Click on ‘Check for Updates’ to start checking for updates
- This will download and re-install the update automatically
- Make sure to restart your system to complete the process
- System restore point
Use System Restore to restore your system to a previous state. In order to do so, Go to Control panel > Recovery > System Restore > Restore my computer to an earlier time. Pick a time before you performed the update to restore your computer to previous settings.
